With aged men is wisdom, And in length of days understanding.
The mouth of the righteous talketh of wisdom, And his tongue
speaketh justice.
The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of knowledge; [But] the
foolish despise wisdom and instruction.
Be not wise in thine own eyes; Fear Jehovah, and depart from
evil:
Forsake her not, and she will preserve thee; Love her, and
she will keep thee. Wisdom [is] the principal thing; [Therefore] get
wisdom; Yea, with all thy getting get understanding.
A wise son [heareth] his father's instruction; But a scoffer
heareth not rebuke.
For to the man that pleaseth him [God] giveth wisdom, and
knowledge, and joy; but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap
up, that he may give to him that pleaseth God. This also is vanity and a
striving after wind.
Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the
weakness of God is stronger than men.
that their hearts may be comforted, they being knit together
in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, that they
may know the mystery of God, [even] Christ, in whom are all the
treasures of wisdom and knowledge hidden.
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then
peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without
variance, without hypocrisy.
But if any of you lacketh wisdom, let him ask of God, who
giveth to all liberally and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who was made unto us
wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption:
A fool uttereth all his anger; But a wise man keepeth it
back and stilleth it.
Every wise woman buildeth her house; But the foolish
plucketh it down with her own hands.
A scoffer loveth not to be reproved; He will not go unto the
wise.
Hear counsel, and receive instruction, That thou mayest be
wise in thy latter end.
Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, And the man that
getteth understanding.
