Psalm 90

Psalm 90

New International Version (NIV)

Psalm 90

BOOK IV
Psalms 90–106
   A prayer of Moses the man of God. 1 Lord, you have been our dwelling place
   throughout all generations.
2 Before the mountains were born
   or you brought forth the whole world,
   from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
 3 You turn people back to dust,
   saying, “Return to dust, you mortals.”
4 A thousand years in your sight
   are like a day that has just gone by,
   or like a watch in the night.
5 Yet you sweep people away in the sleep of death—
   they are like the new grass of the morning:
6 In the morning it springs up new,
   but by evening it is dry and withered.
 7 We are consumed by your anger
   and terrified by your indignation.
8 You have set our iniquities before you,
   our secret sins in the light of your presence.
9 All our days pass away under your wrath;
   we finish our years with a moan.
10 Our days may come to seventy years,
   or eighty, if our strength endures;
yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow,
   for they quickly pass, and we fly away.
11 If only we knew the power of your anger!
   Your wrath is as great as the fear that is your due.
12 Teach us to number our days,
   that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
 13 Relent, LORD! How long will it be?
   Have compassion on your servants.
14 Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love,
   that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
15 Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us,
   for as many years as we have seen trouble.
16 May your deeds be shown to your servants,
   your splendor to their children.
 17 May the favor[a] of the Lord our God rest on us;
   establish the work of our hands for us—
   yes, establish the work of our hands.

Psalm 89

Psalm 89

New International Version (NIV)

Psalm 89

Psalm 89[a]
    maskil[b] of Ethan the Ezrahite. 1 I will sing of the LORD’s great love forever;
   with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known
   through all generations.
2 I will declare that your love stands firm forever,
   that you have established your faithfulness in heaven itself.
3 You said, “I have made a covenant with my chosen one,
   I have sworn to David my servant,
4 ‘I will establish your line forever
   and make your throne firm through all generations.’”[c]
 5 The heavens praise your wonders, LORD,
   your faithfulness too, in the assembly of the holy ones.
6 For who in the skies above can compare with the LORD?
   Who is like the LORD among the heavenly beings?
7 In the council of the holy ones God is greatly feared;
   he is more awesome than all who surround him.
8 Who is like you, LORD God Almighty?
   You, LORD, are mighty, and your faithfulness surrounds you.
 9 You rule over the surging sea;
   when its waves mount up, you still them.
10 You crushed Rahab like one of the slain;
   with your strong arm you scattered your enemies.
11 The heavens are yours, and yours also the earth;
   you founded the world and all that is in it.
12 You created the north and the south;
   Tabor and Hermon sing for joy at your name.
13 Your arm is endowed with power;
   your hand is strong, your right hand exalted.
 14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne;
   love and faithfulness go before you.
15 Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you,
   who walk in the light of your presence, LORD.
16 They rejoice in your name all day long;
   they celebrate your righteousness.
17 For you are their glory and strength,
   and by your favor you exalt our horn.[d]
18 Indeed, our shield[e] belongs to the LORD,
   our king to the Holy One of Israel.
 19 Once you spoke in a vision,
   to your faithful people you said:
“I have bestowed strength on a warrior;
   I have raised up a young man from among the people.
20 I have found David my servant;
   with my sacred oil I have anointed him.
21 My hand will sustain him;
   surely my arm will strengthen him.
22 The enemy will not get the better of him;
   the wicked will not oppress him.
23 I will crush his foes before him
   and strike down his adversaries.
24 My faithful love will be with him,
   and through my name his horn[f] will be exalted.
25 I will set his hand over the sea,
   his right hand over the rivers.
26 He will call out to me, ‘You are my Father,
   my God, the Rock my Savior.’
27 And I will appoint him to be my firstborn,
   the most exalted of the kings of the earth.
28 I will maintain my love to him forever,
   and my covenant with him will never fail.
29 I will establish his line forever,
   his throne as long as the heavens endure.
 30 “If his sons forsake my law
   and do not follow my statutes,
31 if they violate my decrees
   and fail to keep my commands,
32 I will punish their sin with the rod,
   their iniquity with flogging;
33 but I will not take my love from him,
   nor will I ever betray my faithfulness.
34 I will not violate my covenant
   or alter what my lips have uttered.
35 Once for all, I have sworn by my holiness—
   and I will not lie to David—
36 that his line will continue forever
   and his throne endure before me like the sun;
37 it will be established forever like the moon,
   the faithful witness in the sky.”
 38 But you have rejected, you have spurned,
   you have been very angry with your anointed one.
39 You have renounced the covenant with your servant
   and have defiled his crown in the dust.
40 You have broken through all his walls
   and reduced his strongholds to ruins.
41 All who pass by have plundered him;
   he has become the scorn of his neighbors.
42 You have exalted the right hand of his foes;
   you have made all his enemies rejoice.
43 Indeed, you have turned back the edge of his sword
   and have not supported him in battle.
44 You have put an end to his splendor
   and cast his throne to the ground.
45 You have cut short the days of his youth;
   you have covered him with a mantle of shame.
 46 How long, LORD? Will you hide yourself forever?
   How long will your wrath burn like fire?
47 Remember how fleeting is my life.
   For what futility you have created all humanity!
48 Who can live and not see death,
   or who can escape the power of the grave?
49 Lord, where is your former great love,
   which in your faithfulness you swore to David?
50 Remember, Lord, how your servant has[g] been mocked,
   how I bear in my heart the taunts of all the nations,
51 the taunts with which your enemies, LORD, have mocked,
   with which they have mocked every step of your anointed one.
 52 Praise be to the LORD forever!
            Amen and Amen.

Acts 10

Acts 10

New International Version (NIV)

Acts 10

Cornelius Calls for Peter
 1 At Caesarea there was a man named Cornelius, a centurion in what was known as the Italian Regiment. 2 He and all his family were devout and God-fearing; he gave generously to those in need and prayed to God regularly. 3 One day at about three in the afternoon he had a vision. He distinctly saw an angel of God, who came to him and said, “Cornelius!” 4 Cornelius stared at him in fear. “What is it, Lord?” he asked.
   The angel answered, “Your prayers and gifts to the poor have come up as a memorial offering before God. 5 Now send men to Joppa to bring back a man named Simon who is called Peter. 6 He is staying with Simon the tanner, whose house is by the sea.”
 7 When the angel who spoke to him had gone, Cornelius called two of his servants and a devout soldier who was one of his attendants. 8 He told them everything that had happened and sent them to Joppa.
Peter’s Vision
 9 About noon the following day as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof to pray. 10 He became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance. 11 He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. 12 It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles and birds. 13 Then a voice told him, “Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.” 14 “Surely not, Lord!” Peter replied. “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.”
 15 The voice spoke to him a second time, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”
 16 This happened three times, and immediately the sheet was taken back to heaven.
 17 While Peter was wondering about the meaning of the vision, the men sent by Cornelius found out where Simon’s house was and stopped at the gate. 18 They called out, asking if Simon who was known as Peter was staying there.
 19 While Peter was still thinking about the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Simon, three[a]men are looking for you. 20 So get up and go downstairs. Do not hesitate to go with them, for I have sent them.”
 21 Peter went down and said to the men, “I’m the one you’re looking for. Why have you come?”
 22 The men replied, “We have come from Cornelius the centurion. He is a righteous and God-fearing man, who is respected by all the Jewish people. A holy angel told him to ask you to come to his house so that he could hear what you have to say.” 23 Then Peter invited the men into the house to be his guests.
Peter at Cornelius’s House
    The next day Peter started out with them, and some of the believers from Joppa went along. 24 The following day he arrived in Caesarea. Cornelius was expecting them and had called together his relatives and close friends. 25 As Peter entered the house, Cornelius met him and fell at his feet in reverence. 26 But Peter made him get up. “Stand up,” he said, “I am only a man myself.” 27 While talking with him, Peter went inside and found a large gathering of people. 28 He said to them: “You are well aware that it is against our law for a Jew to associate with or visit a Gentile. But God has shown me that I should not call anyone impure or unclean. 29So when I was sent for, I came without raising any objection. May I ask why you sent for me?”
 30 Cornelius answered: “Three days ago I was in my house praying at this hour, at three in the afternoon. Suddenly a man in shining clothes stood before me 31 and said, ‘Cornelius, God has heard your prayer and remembered your gifts to the poor. 32 Send to Joppa for Simon who is called Peter. He is a guest in the home of Simon the tanner, who lives by the sea.’ 33 So I sent for you immediately, and it was good of you to come. Now we are all here in the presence of God to listen to everything the Lord has commanded you to tell us.”
 34 Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism 35 but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right.36 You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, announcing the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all. 37 You know what has happened throughout the province of Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John preached— 38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.
 39 “We are witnesses of everything he did in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They killed him by hanging him on a cross, 40 but God raised him from the dead on the third day and caused him to be seen. 41 He was not seen by all the people, but by witnesses whom God had already chosen—by us who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. 42 He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead. 43 All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”
 44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message. 45 The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on Gentiles. 46 For they heard them speaking in tongues[b] and praising God.
   Then Peter said, 47 “Surely no one can stand in the way of their being baptized with water. They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have.” 48 So he ordered that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked Peter to stay with them for a few days.

Acts 2

The Holy Spirit Comes at Pentecost
 1 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues[a] as the Spirit enabled them. 5 Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven.6 When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard their own language being spoken. 7 Utterly amazed, they asked: “Aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans? 8 Then how is it that each of us hears them in our native language? 9 Parthians, Medes and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,[b] 10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome 11 (both Jews and converts to Judaism); Cretans and Arabs—we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!” 12 Amazed and perplexed, they asked one another, “What does this mean?”
 13 Some, however, made fun of them and said, “They have had too much wine.”
Peter Addresses the Crowd
 14 Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: “Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say. 15 These people are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning!16 No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: 17 “‘In the last days, God says,
   I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
   your young men will see visions,
   your old men will dream dreams.
18 Even on my servants, both men and women,
   I will pour out my Spirit in those days,
   and they will prophesy.
19 I will show wonders in the heavens above
   and signs on the earth below,
   blood and fire and billows of smoke.
20 The sun will be turned to darkness
   and the moon to blood
   before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.
21 And everyone who calls
   on the name of the Lord will be saved.’[c]
 22 “Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. 23 This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men,[d] put him to death by nailing him to the cross. 24 But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him. 25 David said about him:
   “‘I saw the Lord always before me.
   Because he is at my right hand,
   I will not be shaken.
26 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
   my body also will rest in hope,
27 because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead,
   you will not let your holy one see decay.
28 You have made known to me the paths of life;
   you will fill me with joy in your presence.’[e]
 29 “Fellow Israelites, I can tell you confidently that the patriarch David died and was buried, and his tomb is here to this day. 30 But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that he would place one of his descendants on his throne. 31 Seeing what was to come, he spoke of the resurrection of the Messiah, that he was not abandoned to the realm of the dead, nor did his body see decay. 32 God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of it. 33 Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear. 34 For David did not ascend to heaven, and yet he said,
   “‘The Lord said to my Lord:
   “Sit at my right hand
35 until I make your enemies
   a footstool for your feet.”’[f]
 36 “Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.”
 37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”
 38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”
 40 With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” 41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.
The Fellowship of the Believers
 42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Psalm 88

A song. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. To the Chief Musician; set to chant mournfully. A didactic or reflective poem of Heman the Ezrahite.
 1O LORD, the God of my salvation, I have cried to You for help by day; at night I am in Your presence.(A)    2Let my prayer come before You and really enter into Your presence; incline Your ear to my cry!
    3For I am full of troubles, and my life draws near to Sheol (the place of the dead).
    4I am counted among those who go down into the pit (the grave); I am like a man who has no help or strength [a mere shadow],
    5Cast away among the dead, like the slain that lie in a [nameless] grave, whom You [seriously] remember no more, and they are cut off from Your hand.
    6You have laid me in the depths of the lowest pit, in darkness, in the deeps.
    7Your wrath lies hard upon me, and You have afflicted me with all Your waves. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!(B)
    8You have put my [familiar] friends far from me; You have made me an abomination to them. I am shut up, and I cannot come forth.
    9My eye grows dim because of sorrow and affliction. Lord, I have called daily on You; I have spread forth my hands to You.
    10Will You show wonders to the dead? Shall the departed arise and praise You? Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!
    11Shall Your steadfast love be declared in the grave? Or Your faithfulness in Abaddon (Sheol, as a place of ruin and destruction)?
    12Shall Your wonders be known in the dark? And Your righteousness in the place of forgetfulness [where the dead forget and are forgotten]?
    13But to You I cry, O Lord; and in the morning shall my prayer come to meet You.
    14Lord, why do You cast me off? Why do You hide Your face from me?(C)
    15I was afflicted and close to death from my youth up; while I suffer Your terrors I am distracted [I faint].
    16Your fierce wrath has swept over me; Your terrors have destroyed me.
    17They surround me like a flood all day long; together they have closed in upon me.
    18Lover and friend have You put far from me; my familiar friends are darkness and the grave.

 1ON THE holy hills stands the city [of Jerusalem and the temple] God founded.    2The Lord loves the gates of Zion [through which the crowds of pilgrims enter from all nations] more than all the dwellings of Jacob (Israel).
    3Glorious things are spoken of you, O city of God. Selah [pause, and calmly realize what that means]!

    6The Lord shall count, when He registers the peoples, that this man was born there. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!

Psalm 86

A Prayer of David.
 1INCLINE YOUR ear, O Lord, and answer me, for I am poor and distressed, needy and desiring.    2Preserve my life, for I am godly and dedicated; O my God, save Your servant, for I trust in You [leaning and believing on You, committing all and confidently looking to You, without fear or doubt].
    3Be merciful and gracious to me, O Lord, for to You do I cry all the day.
    4Make me, Your servant, to rejoice, O Lord, for to You do I lift myself up.
    5For You, O Lord, are good, and ready to forgive [our trespasses, sending them away, letting them go completely and forever]; and You are abundant in mercy and loving-kindness to all those who call upon You.
    6Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer; and listen to the cry of my supplications.
    7In the day of my trouble I will call on You, for You will answer me.
    8There is none like unto You among the gods, O Lord, neither are their works like unto Yours.
    9All nations whom You have made shall come and fall down before You, O Lord; and they shall glorify Your name.
    10For You are great and work wonders! You alone are God.
    11Teach me Your way, O Lord, that I may walk and live in Your truth; direct and unite my heart [solely, reverently] to fear and honor Your name.(A)
    12I will confess and praise You, O Lord my God, with my whole (united) heart; and I will glorify Your name forevermore.
    13For great is Your mercy and loving-kindness toward me; and You have delivered me from the depths of Sheol [from the exceeding depths of affliction].
    14O God, the proud and insolent are risen against me; a rabble of violent and ruthless men has sought and demanded my life, and they have not set You before them.
    15But You, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in mercy and loving-kindness and truth.
    16O turn to me and have mercy and be gracious to me; grant strength (might and inflexibility to temptation) to Your servant and save the son of Your handmaiden.
    17Show me a sign of [Your evident] goodwill and favor, that those who hate me may see it and be put to shame, because You, Lord, [will show Your approval of me when You] help and comfort me.

 1LORD, YOU have [at last] been favorable and have dealt graciously with Your land [of Canaan]; You have brought back [from Babylon] the captives of Jacob.    2You have forgiven and taken away the iniquity of Your people, You have covered all their sin. Selah [pause, and calmly realize what that means]!
    3You have withdrawn all Your wrath and indignation, You have turned away from the blazing anger [which You had let loose].
    4Restore us, O God of our salvation, and cause Your anger toward us to cease [forever].
    5Will You be angry with us forever? Will You prolong Your anger [and disfavor] and spread it out to all generations?
    6Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?
    7Show us Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, and grant us Your salvation.
    8I will listen [with expectancy] to what God the Lord will say, for He will speak peace to His people, to His saints (those who are in right standing with Him)--but let them not turn again to [self-confident] folly.
    9Surely His salvation is near to those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him, [and is ready to be appropriated] that [the manifest presence of God, His] glory may tabernacle and abide in our land.
    10Mercy and loving-kindness and truth have met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
    11Truth shall spring up from the earth, and righteousness shall look down from heaven.
    12Yes, the Lord will give what is good, and our land will yield its increase.
    13Righteousness shall go before Him and shall make His footsteps a way in which to walk.

Psalm 84

To the Chief Musician; set to a Philistine lute, or [possibly] a particular Gittite tune. A Psalm of the sons of Korah.
 1HOW LOVELY are Your tabernacles, O Lord of hosts!    2My soul yearns, yes, even pines and is homesick for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out and sing for joy to the living God.
    3Yes, the sparrow has found a house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young--even Your altars, O Lord of hosts, my King and my God.
    4Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are those who dwell in Your house and Your presence; they will be singing Your praises all the day long. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!
    5Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man whose strength is in You, in whose heart are the highways to Zion.
    6Passing through the Valley of Weeping (Baca), they make it a place of springs; the early rain also fills [the pools] with blessings.
    7They go from strength to strength [increasing in victorious power]; each of them appears before God in Zion.
    8O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer; give ear, O God of Jacob! Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!
    9Behold our shield [the king as Your agent], O God, and look upon the face of Your anointed!
    10For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand [anywhere else]; I would rather be a doorkeeper and stand at the threshold in the house of my God than to dwell [at ease] in the tents of wickedness.
    11For the Lord God is a Sun and Shield; the Lord bestows [present] grace and favor and [future] glory (honor, splendor, and heavenly bliss)! No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.
    12O Lord of hosts, blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man who trusts in You [leaning and believing on You, committing all and confidently looking to You, and that without fear or misgiving]!

Psalm 83: Israel & her enemies

Jehovah Jireh (worship video w/ lyrics)

Psalm 83

Psalm 83

Amplified Bible (AMP)

Psalm 83

A song. A Psalm of Asaph.
 1KEEP NOT silence, O God; hold not Your peace or be still, O God.    2For, behold, Your enemies are in tumult, and those who hate You have raised their heads.(A)
    3They lay crafty schemes against Your people and consult together against Your hidden and precious ones.
    4They have said, Come, and let us wipe them out as a nation; let the name of Israel be in remembrance no more.
    5For they have consulted together with one accord and one heart; against You they make a covenant--
    6The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, of Moab and the Hagrites,
    7Gebal and Ammon and Amalek, the Philistines, with the inhabitants of Tyre.
    8Assyria also has joined with them; they have helped the children of Lot [the Ammonites and the Moabites] and have been an arm to them. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!
    9Do to them as [You did to] the Midianites, as to Sisera and Jabin at the brook of Kishon,(B)
    10Who perished at Endor, who became like manure for the earth.
    11Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, yes, all their princes as Zebah and Zalmunna,(C)
    12Who say, Let us take possession for ourselves of the pastures of God.
    13O my God, make them like whirling dust, like stubble or chaff before the wind!
    14As fire consumes the forest, and as the flame sets the mountains ablaze,
    15So pursue and afflict them with Your tempest and terrify them with Your tornado or hurricane.
    16Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek, inquire for, and insistently require Your name, O Lord.
    17Let them be put to shame and dismayed forever; yes, let them be put to shame and perish,
    18That they may know that You, Whose name alone is the Lord, are the Most High over all the earth.

Hillsong - You are My Strength with lyrics

Psalm 118 (with text - press on more info.)

Psalm 118

Psalm 118

Amplified Bible (AMP)

Psalm 118

 1O GIVE thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever!    2Let Israel now say that His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever.
    3Let the house of Aaron [the priesthood] now say that His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever.
    4Let those now who reverently and worshipfully fear the Lord say that His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever.
    5Out of my distress I called upon the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free and in a large place.
    6The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?(A)
    7The Lord is on my side and takes my part, He is among those who help me; therefore shall I see my desire established upon those who hate me.
    8It is better to trust and take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in man.
    9It is better to trust and take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.
    10All nations (the surrounding tribes) compassed me about, but in the name of the Lord I will cut them off!
    11They compassed me about, yes, they surrounded me on every side; but in the name of the Lord I will cut them off!
    12They swarmed about me like bees, they blaze up and are extinguished like a fire of thorns; in the name of the Lord I will cut them off!(B)
    13You [my adversary] thrust sorely at me that I might fall, but the Lord helped me.
    14The Lord is my Strength and Song; and He has become my Salvation.
    15The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents and private dwellings of the [uncompromisingly] righteous: the right hand of the Lord does valiantly and achieves strength!
    16The right hand of the Lord is exalted; the right hand of the Lord does valiantly and achieves strength!
    17I shall not die but live, and shall declare the works and recount the illustrious acts of the Lord.
    18The Lord has chastened me sorely, but He has not given me over to death.(C)
    19Open to me the [temple] gates of righteousness; I will enter through them, and I will confess and praise the Lord.
    20This is the gate of the Lord; the [uncompromisingly] righteous shall enter through it.(D)
    21I will confess, praise, and give thanks to You, for You have heard and answered me; and You have become my Salvation and Deliverer.
    22The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone.
    23This is from the Lord and is His doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.(E)
    24This is the day which the Lord has brought about; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
    25Save now, we beseech You, O Lord; send now prosperity, O Lord, we beseech You, and give to us success!
    26Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord; we bless you from the house of the Lord [you who come into His sanctuary under His guardianship].(F)
    27The Lord is God, Who has shown and given us light [He has illuminated us with grace, freedom, and joy]. Decorate the festival with leafy boughs and bind the sacrifices to be offered with thick cords [all over the priest's court, right up] to the horns of the altar.
    28You are my God, and I will confess, praise, and give thanks to You; You are my God, I will extol You.
    29O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever.
