Pray for Bible translation and distribution. The whole Bible exists only in Chuuk and Pohnpein; the others have only the NT at best. This, combined with a non-literary culture, holds back the spiritual development of the largely Christian population and opens them to error and the predation of cults. Existence can be simultaneously precarious and dull because of the fickle garment and tourist industries, heavy dependence on US aid and geographical isolation. This drives some into the arms of faith, but others into immorality. Prostitution is common and most youth are sexually active.
