Praise God for the growth of Christian media as a means of spreading the gospel, the Word of God and Christian teaching. The fruitfulness of Christian radio and the remarkable faith of those who had broadcast into China for years with little visible evidence of a response are now plain to see. The Internet is also creating extraordinary new openings for sharing the gospel, for discipling and for communicating with believers and seekers. Challenge for Prayer
In the 1940s there were only a few hundred Christians, mainly in Xining, but in the last 20 years growth has been quite remarkable. Today there are over 280,000 Christians. Most of this growth is among the Han Chinese, and a significant amount through migration. Praise God for this rapid growth. Challenge for Prayer
The Church has grown rapidly and dramatically, especially in the last 20 years – from 30,000 Christians in 1949 to an estimated 3.6 million in 2010. Lack of biblical teaching and trained leaders makes the Church vulnerable to heresy; the Disciples is a cult started in Shaanxi.
