Word from John - Year of the Prodigal

Subject: Word from John - Year of the Prodigal

"So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few chosen."
Matthew 20:16 (The Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard)

"But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first and said, 'Son, go, work today in my vineyard.' He
answered and said, 'I will not,' but afterward he regretted it and went."
Matthew 21:28-29   (The Parable of the Two Sons)

We are in an eight-month season, ending in 11/11, wherein prodigals will be visited by the Lord with an opportunity
to repent and be restored.

This is a time to pray for the prodigals.

It is also a time to examine our own prodigal tendencies. "Prodigal" is first of all an adjective meaning spending money or resources recklessly. Prodigal also means having or giving on a lavish scale.

To be the chosen, and not merely the called, we have to give our lives, our hearts on a lavish scale and repent for wasted time
and resources.

As we do so, let us pray for our backslidden loved ones. From now until November is their time of opportunity.

blessings,
