"Do not love the world or anything in the world. ... For everything in the  world - the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of  what he has and does - comes not from the Father but from the world."
 1 John 2:15a&16

Our world is changing rapidly. A quick look at the evening news or a chance viewing of the latest sitcom lets us know that the values portrayed there are not the ones Jesus instructed us to follow.
In 2 Timothy 3, the apostle Paul writes: "{R}ealize this, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, ... traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away" (vs 1-5).
God's Word correctly predicts all that we see happening around us.
It's right for us to pray for His intervention, especially in matters that go against the moral integrity of His principles. We are to stand firm in our faith and not compromise our values nor the convictions He has given us.
On the other hand, know that He is in control, and all these things must take place before His return. See this time in our history as being a chance for you to pray, to witness, and to live out the love of Christ to those who are lost. The world is looking for Hope, and as His child you have the answer.

"For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches  us to say 'No' to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled,  upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed  hope - the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who  gave Himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for Himself  a people that are His very own, eager to do what is good."  Titus 2:11-14
