Challenge for Prayer
Conversion usually brings opposition. Early Christian converts often suffered persecution in this Himalayan area. Legal safeguards are in place to preserve the local animist tribal religions, such as Donyi-Polo, from heavy-handed proselytism and Hinduization; Arunachal Pradesh is one of India’s states with a firmly ensconced anti-conversion law.
